About Phyllis Khare and The Patterned Home

There's so much beauty in the world
For over twenty years, I've built things online — websites, digital products, brands, businesses. It's work I love, but somewhere along the way, I started craving something I could hold. Something physical. Real.
That craving is where The Patterned Home began.
My designs come from my own photographs — gardens, forests, beaches — turned into patterns that carry that same sense of color and light into everyday objects, or from art I create and then turn into patterns.
There's nothing quite like the moment a photo becomes a pattern, and a pattern becomes a tablecloth, a journal, a curtain you actually live with.
But this isn't only about my own work. I have a genuine love for what other artists and craftspeople make — the color choices, the small decisions, the pieces that make a space feel considered rather than assembled.
Somewhere down the road, I'd love to open a real, physical retail space — a place to curate beautiful things, mine and others', side by side. The Patterned Home online is the first chapter of that.
For now, I invite you to look closely at color and pattern the way I do — as something worth noticing, worth living inside of, worth surrounding yourself with on purpose.
